Several club members made a day-run down to Wilsonville, OR to visit the World of Speed. But first we stopped at the nearby Ram Restaurant for sandwiches and adult beverages.
The World of Speed includes almost 100 vehicles, featuring cars raced by Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Danica Patrick — and many more well-known names in the world of racing.
They have a LOT of displays, but one of the most impressive was the Daytona Banking Wall. This is a 15-foot tall, 44-feet wide display with the exact incline of the original speedway, complete with four cars driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jim Vandiver, Terry Labonte and Cale Yarborough.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and recommend it highly to everyone. And take the kids … there are three race car simulators! Admission is only $10 (discounts for seniors, military, kids).
