FROM PRESIDENT DON: Another parade! I had asked for people to be at Ocean Beach Safeway at 10 a.m. The evening before, I was advised the organizers of the parade asked that CRC be checked in by 10:30 a.m. As I pulled into the parking area, Tom Burgoyne, Mary and Larry, Savannah and Rodney, Bryan, were waiting. I told Tom that we were expected in Cathlamet by 10:30 and would he lead our 5 cars.
Tom did a fantastic job guiding our group and we arrived three-minutes ahead of the deadline. Cheryl pulled (I felt guilty) Annamae to Cathlamet. We now had a respectable group of seven Corvettes.
The parade was nice for a small town. Hundreds of small children lined the streets, especially in downtown Cathlamet. I had many adults ask, “Where was our candy?”
After the parade we journeyed back to Longview and most stopped at Hart-C’s for lunch.
